Public spaces for Presence.
Circles of Space creates gaze stations — quiet urban sanctuaries where strangers meet, without words, through the eyes.
Introduction
Circles of Space began in 2018 as a street project inviting people to pause, connect, and rediscover our shared humanity.
At its core is the timeless practice of eye contact — a silent, intimate exchange that transcends barriers and brings us fully into the present. For over six years, COS has transformed busy urban spaces into sanctuaries of stillness, where strangers meet with openness, calm, and sometimes profound emotion. In creating these public moments of presence, the project reveals the quiet beauty and depth of human connection — reminding us that even a simple gaze can shift the way we relate to the world and each other.
